Customers

Managing customers

Create customers, set their pricing, and link them to orders.

The same customer record is shared by your storefront, the web admin, and every till.

Adding customers

Click Add Customer on the Customers page. Only name and phone number are required, and email is optional.

Phone numbers are stored in full international form, so a number typed as 08012345678 is saved as +2348012345678. This matters more than it looks: it is how the same person is recognised across the storefront and the counter instead of becoming two records, and it is what SMS is sent to.

A number from outside your country is accepted as long as it is a plausible length. A number from your own country has to match the national numbering plan, because that is where a typo is worth catching.

Bringing an existing list

Customers → Import takes a spreadsheet. Rows whose phone number cannot be read are skipped and listed back to you rather than being quietly dropped, so you can fix them and re-import.

Assigning a customer to an order

On the POS, click the customer icon in the cart to search and select a customer. This links the order to their account, applies their pricing tier, and lets them pay from their wallet.

Pricing tiers

A customer can sit on a pricing tier: retail, wholesale, reseller, or a tier you define under Settings → Price tiers. The tier's price is applied automatically at checkout and at the till. Nobody has to remember who gets what.

Prepayments

Money a customer pays in advance is held in their wallet. See the Customer wallets article.
